Contact Hours:
Current tutorial length is insufficient to support a range of in-depth learning activities. Extending the length from 60 to 90 minutes will provide instructors the flexibility to both a) conduct effective synchronous learning, and b) allow time for questions to be answered, group work on assignments to occur, etc.
Prerequisites:
This course assumes a prior understanding of the foundations of teaching and learning. The addition of third-year standing and EDST 1000U as prerequisites will ensure that students coming in to the course will have an appropriate baseline level of understanding.

This course is designed to help students synthesize their learning about early childhood program elements into an integrated approach to the development of communication for young learners. Emerging digital technologies and multiple literacies will be emphasized.

The proposed changes were generated and discussed in small focus groups of EDST instructors in October 2023.
The resulting changes were then discussed with the full Educational Studies team at EDST program meetings in November and December 2023.
